Practices
Dear Parents,
We missed most of the swimmers tonight at practice. There are four things that we are trying to focus on this season. First is a strong Mind: setting you mind to accomplish a goal and not swaying from that thought. Second is Heart: to push yourself as hard as you can and trying your best to reach those goals you have set for yourself. Third is Endurance: working hard each day to build up the distance and repetition of doing something over and over again. Last is Strength: dry land work outs help build up the muscles used in swimming to make it easier to swim and to help you build speed in your swimming.
To be a great swimmer you must use all four of these; Mind, Heart, Endurance, and Strength. If you do not do one of these then you will not improve as much as you want to or can. We, the coaches, are here to push each and every swimmer to the best of their abilities. In order for the swimmers to reach their full potential we need them to be prepared to work hard at each practice they come to. We need for them to try and come to at least 3 practices each week. We understand that there are sometimes other obligations that prevent them from coming to practice. We have put under the News from Coaches section of the website some activities that can be done at home.
Starting tomorrow we will be including dry land into every practice. For the first 10 minutes of each practice before they get into the water. Every swimmer needs to start bringing water/Gatorade, TENNIS SHOES, shirts and shorts to every practice.
Please take to heart that we are only trying to do what is best for each swimmer to reach their full potential in a short amount of time.
Thank You,
The Coaches
