Harvey
Dear Piranhas,
I hope everyone is doing ok. This is the worst storm I have seen hit Houston since I moved from Austin 28 years ago. I have lived in this subdivision for 25 years and Have never seen them close Hwy 6 at Cairnway. Water is creeping further into our subdivision and Bear Creek more than ever. Homes in our subdivision from ClayRd to Cairnway have been affected the most at this time. I have heard from the HOA that they are setting up a command post for the sheriffs and other officials at the Civic Center. So far I have heard that Windsong and Deerfield are also helping with the efforts of providing food and water for these officials and volunteers.
I have been asked to send out an e-mail to see if you have some extra supplies: water, food (preferably cooked), sports drinks, and sodas. The responders will be using the Civic Center to shower so they could use soap, shampoo, towels, and clothing. Your family comes first but if you have anything that you can give to help the first responders it will be greatly appreciated. They will be letting me know of other ways we may be able to help in about an hour.
Please stay safe.
